The new company will help printing and packaging
industries in creating and developing RFID tag supply chains.
One of the key obstacles for large scale RFID adoption has been identified
to be the cost and quality of available RFID tags. A new company, Confidex
Ltd., has been established with a mission to help printing and packaging
industries in creating reliably working, lowest cost supply chains for RFID
tags.
Confidex will offer services and solutions for tag and process design,
engineering, production start-up integration and support, RFID testing and
converting. Based on several years' experience and strong RF and
reel-to-reel competencies, Confidex has a unique capability in the industry
to design and ramp-up RFID manufacturing and converting operations, whether
based on using direct IC attachment, straps or inlays.
Confidex will also bring to the market application customized tags, like low
cost, EPC compliant reusable tags for supply chain applications, as in many
applications enhanced RF performance and/or better physical protection for
the tag is needed.
The RFID industry needs competence as well as collaboration between
companies.
Confidex will work closely with its customers and network of partners to
achieve the quality and cost objectives that the end users are entitled to
expect from the tag suppliers and converters. Confidex will fully commit to
EPC Global and ISO standardization work.
